Viaja en verde is an initiative led by eco-union that aims to reduce the climate impact of tourist mobility in Spain.

Spain is one of the most visited countries in the world and transport is the first source of CO2 emissions. With this project we seek to raise awareness among the different political decision makers, business networks and tourism managers of the need to promote the use of trains for professional or leisure trips of medium and long distance, develop cross-border connections, recover night trains and maintain conventional lines.

We need a modal shift from carbon-intensive means of passenger transport (aviation, road) to environmentally friendly mobility (rail).

Sustainable mobility and modal shift are necessary in the fight against climate change. Thus, it is essential to reduce carbon emissions derived from tourist mobility for leisure or professional reasons, not only within Spain, but also those derived from international tourism.
